EU to decide whether to ban bluefin tuna trade

The European Commission is to decide whether to back an international ban on trade in bluefin tuna next week.
 
 
European Union governments postponed a decision on whether to back a ban until after quotas were decided by the Atlantic tuna commission, ICCAT, earlier this month.

Marine reserve plan for Chagos Archipelago

Census of Marine Life reveals bizarre ocean creatures

New plan to halt slaughter of sea birds by fisheries

Row over seal of approval for salmon farms

A row has broken out over plans to give salmon farms an environmental seal of approval.
Organisations who work to protect the wild Atlantic salmon have criticised the conservation group WWF  for drawing up the proposals.
