The tone of this fine fish and chip establishment serving MSC certified fish is set by the jolly, interactive Monty Pythonesque website. We certainly can’t argue with their slogan: “A little bit of what you fancy.....does you good.” And if you fancy some fresh Scottish hake (£10.95), for example, you can order it freshly cooked to order either fried in a light, crispy batter, in golden crumbs or poached in a bag with parsley butter & lemon. There’s also MSC blue-ticked haddock & cod and scampi, along with sausages, burgers, gammon and savoury pies. For every sustainable fishcake meal sold (£7.95), Enochs make a contribution to the RNLI. The oil of choice - unusually for a chip chop - is high oleic sunflower oil, that is low in saturated fat & high in Omega 9.
Enochs has other unusual features including blackboard specials, locally brewed ales, espresso and thick ice cream shakes. The takeaway menu mirrors the main menu and is terrific value.
