Cod, haddock, plaice and scampi are the seafood mainstays at Francine's but the menu gives little away about its origins and the restaurant did not respond to our requests for further detail. It makes judging sustainability difficult. The cod, for instance, could come from a sustainable fishery but it might not. Who's to know unless the origins are made clear?

Freshly cooked food, generous portions, excellent value - what more could anyone ask of a neighbourhood chippie? The constant stream of customers speaks for itself, especially as the friendly, hardworking staff somehow manage to keep waiting times to a minimum.
